Mindful Pathways
Working with couples, individuals & young adults looking to restore balance and harmony in their lives
Hi, I am Lucy.
I am a holistic therapist trained in psychology, hypnosis and somatic understanding. Additionally, I have had the great privilege of being one of few to study under renowned Physician Dr. Gabor Maté, practicing the principles of Compassionate Inquiry. I also use IFS (Internal Family Systems) in my practice. I am confident that whatever may be troubling you or you may wish to explore, I can support you.
My Approach
Compassionate Inquiry
Compassionate Inquiry® is a psychotherapeutic approach developed by Dr. Gabor Maté.
“The purpose of Compassionate Inquiry is to drill down to the core stories people tell themselves – to get them to see what story they are telling themselves unconsciously; what those beliefs are, where they came from; and guide them to the possibility of letting go of those stories, or letting go of the hold those stories have on them …
That’s what Compassionate Inquiry is.”~ Dr. Gabor Maté

IFS
IFS is a transformative, evidence-based psychotherapy that helps people heal by accessing and loving their protective and wounded inner parts. We believe the mind is naturally multiple and that is a good thing. Just like members of a family, inner parts are forced from their valuable states into extreme roles within us. We also all have a core Self.
Self is in everyone. It can’t be damaged. It knows how to heal.
By helping people first access their Self and, from that core, come to understand and heal their parts, IFS creates inner and outer connectedness.

Somatic Therapy
Somatic from the greek sōma ‘body’ is an approach to therapy that includes the body experience. The body is wise and can tell us so much about our experience. However, in western cultures, we have become very disconnected from our bodily experience. Rather than just talking about our mental states somatic therapy guides patients to focus on their underlying physical sensations reconnecting them to the wisdom of their bodies. The mind-body exercises that inform my therapy may include breath work, meditation, visualisation, grounding, shiatsu and sensation awareness work.
Hypnosis
Our brain is made up of millions of neural pathways that are formed by our environment and genes from 0-7 years of age. They become repeated and embedded and then eventually they just become who we are and how we react and relate to the world. Thanks to neurological research in the last 40 years, we now know that it takes approximately 2 months to change a neural pathway, thanks to neural plasticity.
Hypnosis is the practice of understanding the target pathway, entering into a theta brain wave state, and reprogramming your mind to think differently until you think differently.
Experience
Over the past five years I have had a private practice. additionally I have worked with organisation such as DrugFam, NGO suicide prevention, sex and love addition support communities in Hong Kong, US and Singapore. I also support family members of addicts in the 12 step community and additional support groups. Currently I work with Counselling Perspective in Singapore under Dr Graves & at From Here On In Bali under Director Kylie Butler. In Singapore I have facilitated workshops for therapeutic providers to support best practices for children post-pandemic.
